Spicy Cranberry Salsa
Are you looking to add something fun and different to your holiday meal this year? I know I always am. Personally, I know I take it too far. I literally have a spreadsheet color coded to plan all of the appetizers, sides and dishes I will be serving at the Thanksgiving I am hosting at our house this year. I have been working on paring it back a bit, or I know that I will be pulling my hair out trying to accomplish all of it in just a few short hours.
I whipped up a batch of this cranberry salsa on a whim in my food processor the other night and it was just too delicious not to share. It is good on its own, but it is AMAZING served with some cream cheese on crackers or bread or on these bruschetta.
If you are anything like my family who can’t handle any amount of spice, you can reduce the jalapeño to just a half and you will get just the slightest hint of spice. You can also remove the seeds and ribs to eliminate spice as well. If you are a spice addict on the other side of the coin, feel free to double the jalapeño!
I am excited to play around with all of the possibilities of this easy salsa when it comes to using up Thanksgiving leftovers. I am also making a lightened up turkey quesadilla or perhaps I will even try some funky nachos. It is an easy way to add a unique kick of spice and flavor to any simple meal!

Looks like you put celery in your food processor but it’s not in the recipe – is it supposed to be?
Danielle Green says
The green stuff is jalapeno!
Amy Adkins says
I think the celery looking item is the “green onions halved.”

I made this, but it was way too hot, even with a small piece of jalapeno, with no seeds. So, I added some fig and peach preserves and it cam out much more spreadable and delicious! Also, used lime zest instead of orange.
