Brussels Sprouts in Air Fryer
A good crispy brussels sprout is absolutely delicious when it’s cooked and seasoned well. Roasting brussels sprouts is my absolute favorite way to enjoy them. It caramelizes the outside of the vegetable while cooking the center to tender perfection. Cooking brussels sprouts in the Air Fryer cuts the roasting time in half without the need to pre-heat your oven and by circulating the hot air, it crisps them to perfection quicker.

How to Make Brussels Sprouts in Air Fryer
In a large mixing bowl, combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper if you’d like to add a hint of spice. I highly recommend this addition as it really compliments the sweet flavors of maple. Give it a quick whisk to combine the ingredients.
Halve the brussels sprouts and add them to the bowl of seasoning. Toss the brussel sprouts with the seasoning until they are well coated.
Using a kitchen tong, remove the sprouts from the bowl and arrange them in a single layer in your air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to not overcrowd the vegetable. Keep any leftover maple mixture and set aside.
How long to cook halved brussel sprouts in air fryer
Air fry the brussels sprouts at 375° F for 10 minutes. When the 10 minutes have passed, add in chopped garlic and pecans and drizzle with the leftover maple Dijon mixture.
Cook in the Air Fryer for an additional 5 minutes until the garlic is golden and the sprouts are crispy. Remove and transfer to a serving platter. Top with a pinch of flaky sea salt and serve immediately.
Substitute for Pure Maple Syrup
Pure maple syrup is harvested from the sap of maple trees. With its rich amber hue and complex flavor profile, it’s a true delight for the senses. Unlike artificial syrups, pure maple syrup has an amazing depth of flavor.
As for substitutions, while nothing quite replicates the unique taste of pure maple syrup, there are alternatives available. For a similar flavor profile, consider using honey or agave nectar. They provide a comparable sweetness and richness to the dish.
