15 Minute Dinner Recipe
What is better than an easy comforting dinner that only takes 15 minutes to prepare!? I know I have no interest slaving away over the stove for hours on end for dinner. Why bother when there are so many amazing meals that you can whip up in no time, like this 10 Minute Beef & Broccolini Bowls.
How to Make Chicken Sausage Pasta Skillet
To get started, add the pasta to a large pot of boiling salted water and cook according to the directions to al dente.
Gluten Free Pasta
This penne skillet can be made with just about any pasta. We chose a gluten free pasta to make it more accommodating to a wider variety of guests. Traditional pasta and whole wheat pasta are both great options as well. I also like to use protein pasta for a healthier meal with even more nutrients.
White Wine Cream Sauce
While the pasta is cooking, in a large skillet over medium high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the sliced chicken apple sausage for 4-5 minutes. Add the sliced shallots to the pan and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the sausage is browned and the shallots are softened.
Deglaze the pan with white wine and reduce until most of the wine is evaporated. We like to use a Pinot Grigio, which is great for cooking. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream and salt and pepper to the pan and bring to a simmer. You can also use pasta water in place of the chicken broth if you don’t want to open a container of chicken broth for the recipe.
Drain and toss the pasta with the sauce and let the pasta cook within the sauce for a minute. Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the cheese and parsley. Serve immediately.

I made this tonight & didn’t have penne pasta
so I used Papardelle ~ and my sausage was turkey with cranberries & apple (it’s Thanksgiving week!) ~
I also didn’t want to use heavy cream, but I happened to have most of a container of Crême Fraîche in the fridge. There you go. It was delicious and I will make it again.

I haven’t cooked much my life but in the past few years have really tried to learn a lot in the kitchen. I buy chicken apple sausage for my family and never know what to do with it and I end up making the same recipe that my husband is sick of. So I decided to Google something new and this recipe is nothing shy of totally amazing. The only thing I changed was I did not use gluten-free pasta and I only used a quarter cup of wine. I also only used about 12 oz of pasta. Definitely a dish you can play around with!

This was easy and deliciously amazing! I used more cheese to use up the wedge and more parsley to use up as well. I also use two packages of chicken sausage which was good for a pound of pasta. It makes a lot and would be great for company?
