Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wrap is a light and healthy wrap filled with buffalo chicken breasts, Greek yogurt, bleu cheese crumbles, broccoli slaw, celery, avocado and tomatoes for an easy lunch with bold flavor!
Because of some health reason, my doctor recently told me I needed to focus on more of a low-carb diet. I can’t lie, it kinda sucks. I LOVE carbs. Whether it is crackers, bread, or even fruits and vegetables, it seems like carbs are in EVERYTHING good?! So my new mission is to find lower-carb foods to enjoy my old favorites with.
I was digging through all of the wraps in the bread isle at my local grocery store, trying to find the lowest-carb and lowest calorie version. It seems like you usually get one or the other or they just look like a thin stale piece of cardboard. Then my eye caught these Tumaro’s new york deli style wraps and they looked really good. I was sure when I checked out the nutritional info, they would be deal-breakers. To my pleasant surprise, they were very low in calories and only had 6 net carbs. Yay, win-win!
I brought these home and was anxious to give them a try. I busted them out for lunch right away and put together this easy and healthy wrap with my favorite flavor, buffalo chicken. The Greek yogurt and avocado add a cool creamy element to balance the crunch of the crunchy vegetables and heat from the buffalo sauce.
The wraps are very thin. Probably the thinnest I have every tried. This is great in my book, because they are just thick enough to hold everything together without blowing my carb budget. They everything flavor I went with added a nice extra kick of flavor as well.
Needless to say, you are going to be seeing lots of light and easy recipes using these wraps coming soon on the blog. Everything from wraps to pizza, these wraps are perfect for lots of low-carb meals! Check out this video on Instagram of me assembling this easy wrap and be sure to follow for more easy meal ideas.

Does the avocado get brown at all?
Danielle Green says
If you are making this in advance, you could squeeze some lime juice over the avocado to keep it green.

What size wrap did you use? Thanks

You could probably heat up the wrap in the microwave for around 20 seconds and it’ll help it stay together. I use the Ole Extreme Wellness wraps. They are 30 calories & 1 carb less.

Made this for lunch today.. 5 stars for the idea.. but it does NOT all fit into a single Tumaro wrap!! Ended out with a big, (flavorful) mess. Needs some adusting.

Use your brain and add less filling! Don’t knock her recipe because you have spatial challenges.

Do you have a recipe for the broccoli slaw? This looks amazing…
Danielle Green says
Broccoli slaw is actually just a vegetable mix that you buy pre-packaged at the store. It doesn’t have any dressing or anything on it. You can usually find it near the regular broccoli in the produce department.

I’d love to make these for my kids school lunch. However I try to make ahead a freeze their lunches, I have four kids. Can these be frozen? If so how long will they keep?
Jennifer says
I tried to rate 5 stars, but for some reason I couldn’t rate more than 1.
Danielle Green says
I wouldn’t recommend freezing these seeing the fresh ingredients like avocado, tomato, etc. won’t freeze very well.

I thought this would be a great recipe until I saw the sodium content that’s, that’s more than half the daily allowance for most people. I’m sure it would taste good but I’d have to find a way to cut the sodium content.
Danielle says
Hey Suzie, the sodium is almost all from the Buffalo sauce. I love the sauce but sadly it is just very high in sodium. You would have to swap out the buffalo sauce for something else to reduce the sodium.

These look great. Thanks for sharing!

My oh my do I love buffalo chicken wraps! I was ecstatic when I saw yoRu healthier version because I don’t always want all the calories that come with traditional buffalo chicken wraps. I featured it in my latest post, “Kick Start The New Year #3: 15 Healthy Lunches”!
