Ingredients

Scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 Tablespoons melted butter

Cinnamon Glaze

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add the cream to the dry ingredients and stir just until dough forms. Knead gently in the bowl just until dough holds together.
  3. Form the dough into a 10 inch diameter circle, 1 inch thick, on a lightly greased or parchment lined cookie sheet. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and spread scones 2 inches apart from one another.
  4. Brush the scones with 3 tablespoons melted butter and top with mix of 1 Tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  5. Bake the scones until very light golden brown, approximately 20-25 minutes. It is very important not to over bake or they will dry out!
  6. Whisk the glaze ingredients together and drizzle over slightly warm or room temperature scones. Serve immediately or store in an air-tight container up to 3 days.
